Do you know what does the Green House Effect means?
According to Wikipedia, green house effect is a process whereby the atmosphere is heating a planet. When the Earth receives the heat from the Sun, our cloud reflects 25% of it to the atmosphere along with all other materials in it, and the cloud will also absorb 25% of it. This makes 50% of all those bad materials gone, like the UV. Then the earth will absorb 45% and the other 5% will be reflected away by the earth. Now where is all those heat along with its materials that the earth and cloud reflect will go? Will it go to the outer space? Actually, most of it used to be reflected away from the earth’s atmosphere and some will remains to help the earth maintain its temperature.
Then you will think why don’t all of them just go away from the earth, why do some of them stay? What make them stay? The answer is, the heat couldn’t leave the earth because of the cloud and the CO2 (carbon dioxide) held them from leaving. Well, you could say that they form a barrier to hold them from leaving. But still most of them will leave because there are still so many holes in it.
So what happens today? There are so many CO2 that we, human, produced each day. Just look at where you lived. There are so many vehicles now a day that consumes gasoline petroleum, and in most of the countries including mine, Indonesia, we still use petroleum as the main power to produce electricity. With just the two of them, can you imagine how much of CO2 that human contributes to the sky? That’s not all, don’t forget that all of us the living creature we all releases CO2 including the plants.
Now look at the sky, I know it is invisible, but actually the CO2 is coating almost all of the sky in the earth. Well not to include that the atmosphere is on its worst shape due to the usage of CFC. What I’m saying is, the earth is dying. Unable to release most of the heat that the earth receives makes the earth hotter and hotter. That’s what the green house effect really means.
